It’s been a long time coming for Miriam and Rohan!  They’re our couple most affected by lockdowns and restrictions. But boy have they remained unwavering and solid throughout!

Way back in April 2020 Miriam contacted us to explore what was possible for videography of her wedding with Rohan!  Covid was fresh on the scene and everything was new and unknown.  Their wedding day was 21st August 2021.  So, whatever was happening now was surely going to be done and dusted by the time their wedding day rolls around.  In the meantime, we even filmed her brother’s wedding! Yay 😀

With the worst behind us (or so we think), 12 days before Miriam and Rohan’s wedding day, we sit down at a little eatery in Ormiston and have our pre-wedding meeting together!  Excitement and nerves were high, little did we know that the following week the whole of New Zealand is to be plunged into lockdown.  Just 5 days out from their wedding day!

After a few hopeful postponements, they decide to reschedule till June 2022 to give the country time to get back to some kind of normal.  That means they could finally have their dream wedding!

Just before the marriage ceremony, I took Rohan outside the church to read his letter from Miriam.  It was pretty emotional for him (and me cos that’s how I roll, tears falling out of my eyeballs).  Rohan and Miriam each live with their parents.  Up till this point, they’d never lived with each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, which is a rarity nowadays.  The days and months they have waited to have their wedding were not taken lightly and it was more than just an inconvenience.  Their whole lives had to go on hold for 286 days.  To share a home.  Start a family.  To begin their lives as husband and wife.  Well, you’re finally made it!  Congratulations to both of you!!!  Now you know you’ll both be able to weather anything life has to throw at you! X
