What we keep, and why.

1.0 Who We Are

Our website address is https://movingfilms.co.nz. Moving Films Limited ("we", "us", "our") is an Auckland-based wedding videography and photography studio. You can reach us at hello@movingfilms.co.nz.

2.0 Information We Collect

2.1 Contact Form

When you get in touch through our contact form, we collect your name, email address and phone number so we can respond to your enquiry.

2.2 Bookings & The Client Portal

If you book with us, we collect the personal information needed to plan and deliver your wedding film and photography — including your names, wedding date, contact details, and postal or home address where it's required on a booking agreement or tax invoice.

Booked couples get a private login to a client portal, where you can view your package details, agreement, invoices, planning forms and photo gallery. Access is by invitation only — there's no public sign-up.

2.3 Payments

Card payments are processed by Pin Payments through their own secure payment page. We do not collect or store your card details. We keep a record of the amount paid and the date, so your balance stays accurate.

2.4 Gift Registry

If a guest contributes to your gift registry, we collect their name, email address, contribution amount and any optional message, so it can be recorded against your account and, where they choose, shown to you.

3.0 Photos, Videos & Gift Registry

Your public real wedding gallery shows a curated preview of your photos and film on our website — this is separate from your private client portal gallery, which is not publicly visible or indexed by search engines. Gift registry pages are also kept out of search results.

By booking with us, you agree as part of our standard terms and conditions that we may use images and footage from your wedding for promotional purposes, including on our website, real wedding blog posts and social media. If you'd prefer certain images kept private, let us know and we'll respect that.

4.0 Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our public website — pages viewed, general location and device type. This data is anonymised and aggregated; it isn't used to identify you personally. Analytics is not active on the client portal. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

If you log in to the client portal, we also use a cookie to keep you signed in. This is removed when you log out, or expires automatically after a period of inactivity.

5.0 Embedded Content

Our homepage displays reviews pulled live from Google, and some pages may embed video from third-party platforms. Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited that website directly — those services may set their own cookies and collect data about your visit, according to their own privacy policies.

We also display testimonials shared with us directly by couples — by email, text, or on review platforms — alongside their name and the package they booked. If you'd rather your testimonial appeared anonymously, or without your package noted, let us know and we'll update it.

6.0 Who We Share Your Data With

We share information only where it's needed to run our business:

1. Pin Payments, to process card payments and gift registry contributions.
2. Our email provider, to send booking confirmations, invoices and updates.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

7.0 How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep booking records, agreements and invoices for as long as required under New Zealand tax and business record-keeping law. Your wedding photos and films are kept as part of your delivered collection and portal gallery. If you'd like something removed sooner, contact us and we'll action it where we're able to.

8.0 Your Rights

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, or ask us to correct or delete it. This doesn't apply to information we're required to keep for legal, tax or accounting purposes. To make a request, email hello@movingfilms.co.nz.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
