Allely Estate Wedding
In the heart of Kumeu, just North of Auckland City, New Zealand, Lepau and Caranina chose Allely Estate as their wedding ceremony and reception venue for their reputation of being one of the premiere wedding venues in Auckland City that could comfortably cater to a guestlist of more than 200 family and friends.
Cool Blue Wedding
Instead of the traditional white wedding gown, the Bride stunned in a glorious powder blue dress made of nothing but ruffled tule by Katerina Moroz. The Groom wore a sharp blue slim-fit suit and was channeling Nat King Cole vibes. All the florals were designed by Artiflax – I wasn’t told explicitly but these beautifully woven flax creations are a popular choice if one or both in the bridal couple has allergies. This and other dried flower options are a great workaround when fresh flowers won’t work. To tie the blue hues and island styles all together, Fale de Keke cake supplied an array of cakes for gifting and for dessert.
Capturing Moments of Joy
Setting aside 20 minutes for family and group photos was ambitious to say the least, especially when trying to co-ordinate 260 guests. Thank goodness for Tasha, the MC and guest wrangler extraordinaire! Having a professional MC to take care of moments like this can make all the difference on a wedding day and keeping to time. I can’t imagine how overtime we would have been without her. As it was, it was still a larger chunk of time than we planned, but that’s okay, it’s one of my favourite parts of a wedding! And if it’s more important for the Bride and Groom to get group and family photos than it is head off for bridal party and couple photos, then I am absolutely fine with that!
The beautiful spots onsite meant than we could get a few bridal party photos in before we went in for the reception. A venue with established trees and manicured gardens means you can save on transport and time by not needing to travel to another photo location.
An Evening of Celebration
The Marquee plus extensions perfectly held all 260 guests and a huge dancefloor in the middle! Thank goodness, because as the guests were waiting for the Bride and Groom to arrive to the reception, their was an impromptu “dance-off” between both sides of the room. DJ Bus amped the guests up with classic island wedding jams till the clear winner emerged from Table 18.
