Katy & Aaron’s wedding at The Wharf

Katy & Aaron’s Auckland wedding holds a special place in our story at Moving Films. Their day began with a heartfelt first look and creative photo session at Everybody’s Restaurant before they celebrated with family and friends at The Wharf in Northcote.

As one of the weddings from our very first year in business, this film became a turning point for us. Katy, an event manager at the time, shared her wedding film with her work family and introducing them to a cinematic style of event videography that was still relatively uncommon in New Zealand. That connection led to our first major event commissions and helped shape the future of Moving Films as both Auckland wedding videographers and event videographers.

More than a decade later, Katy & Aaron’s wedding remains a reminder of how powerful storytelling can open unexpected doors. We’re grateful to have captured such a beautiful Auckland wedding and to have played a small part in a journey that helped define our business.

As a wee bonus – there was no teaser trailer for their wedding, but we did help Katy put together the most amazing 1st anniversary video for Aaron.  She played him the video at their anniversary trip in Queenstown, celebrating it with all their friends X
